Recent Logo Work

Here are a couple of logo and branding projects I worked on recently. I enjoy doing logos for small businesses. They allow me to be creative and usually follow my design suggestions for a better final result.

Wedding Typography Wall Art Designs

As a designer and an artist, I like to use my skills when I can, sometimes the sentimental is the most priceless and appreciated. I created these design in Illustrator. I wanted it to be mostly typography, feature their last name, the date they got married, and a love quote. I printed it at 8" x 10", then trimmed and framed it.

Mother Daughter Birthday Photo Shoot

This special duo share the same birthday. Isabella is 5 years old and wanted a special photo session to capture the memory. It was a fun and exciting challenge to keep up with her wonderful poses and energy. She led the show that day for sure! I took over 300 adorable shots but here are a few of my favorites.

Tempe Town Lake is a beautiful place for an outdoor shoot with a lot of different and interesting places to take photos. It was an unexpected partly cloudy day so the lighting was a challenge to predict as well but we got some amazing clouds.

We started to loose her a little here. Can you tell? :) It was a hot day and we were over an hour in at this point. So we moved along to some water photos.

Updates: What I've Been Up To

I've been a busy woman the past six months or so. Planning a wedding, a clothing line, my freelance design career and portfolio. I've been juggling so many projects on top of trying to get back into my running routine. It's been a wonderful and challenging journey so far though. I have two more paintings almost finished that I can't wait to post about. One is a pool table lounge scene. The other painting is over-sized and glows in the dark. So it's like two paintings; twice the work. The one in the light and the one in the dark. Hopefully I can take some neat pics of it.

I've been expanding my graphic design skills from just printing and production design to identity and branding, as well as web design. I'm loving the Adobe Dreamweaver program and have coded several sites. I just need to get them hosted. I'm learning that process at the moment. My goal is to be building and hosting sites for my clients by February. Check out my online portfolio to see some of what I've been working on this year.

I've had a blast playing with my Nikon camera and doing amateur photography. I've done a couple photo shoots and just love editing and enhancing photos. The most challenging shoot was with an energetic 5 year old. She was amazing though, and came up with so many ideas! She ran the show and we got so many cute photos it was hard not to post process all 300 frames! I also love doing the photography for the clothing company I started.

My company, Madd Industries, was launched back in June 2013. Hence my lack of posting the last few months. I have so many great designs for apparel and jewelry coming up and just can't wait to get them out to the world. Madd Industries is all about the crazy and the beautiful. The eccentric and the insane. I can't wait to see where it all winds up.

My dreams just keep getting bigger and greater! This year has been all about making those dreams realities.

Love to Run

Nothing is better than beautiful AZ weather and a morning on the trails. Today was surprisingly nice. Although, I could have done without the humidity. I just love monsoon season and this time of year.
I love my new running shoes. They still have some breaking in to do but so light and comfortable. I could run easily on the trail or the pavement.

Delicious breakfast, post run to fuel the rest of my day. Egg, turkey and cheddar on toast.

Have a great day!

"Reflections" Replica Painting

This is a smaller replica of a large painting I did a few years ago. Per avid request, I did this sketch again. I'm never a fan of painting the same thing twice so I changed the colors and composition slightly from the first one. The first one was silver and blue, this one I used gold. Love how it turned out!
